Registering my litter question?

I'm trying to register my litter with the AKC, but am not sure of what procedure to follow. My problem is that I have an import female, who I fairly recently acquired and I went through the process and got her registered with the AKC. I am in process of getting her transferred to my name. That part should be no problem. However, I bred her a while back to a well known German dog, who resides in the USA. I need to get my puppy packets from AKC, but their form requires both dogs be AKC registered, and only the dam is. The sire has an SZ number, tattooed, and DNA tested. What is the quickest why I can get my litter registered? Puppies are now 3 weeks old. Thanks for any help.

The male HAS to be registered too. Both male and female must have DNA profiles done with AKC.

You cannot legally or ethically get SV papers on the litter even if both HAVE SV papers. Contact the owner of the male and ask what the status is of his registration in AKC. Ask for copies of all his paperwork, both the SV and the AKC application. Then call the AKC and ask for the best way to expedite the registration of the litter.

Again - DNA profiles on both are a must, written in stone! And so is registering the male with AKC.

Good luck!

Good News! Found out sire is AKC registered after all. Solves my problem. One question for future however, how can you not get SV papers if both dogs are registered with the SV.

To get SV papers, the litter has to be born in Germany to a breeder who has a registered kennel name with the SV. There is also a required visit from a breed warden to inspect the litter twice.

Litters must be registered in the country of birth in every kennel club's rules.
