Default Tricks class

In Tricks class today our instructor praised Maya multiple times for being simply AMAZING and told me afterwards that a well behaved 9 month old shepherd (right next to dogs she can't play with) is a miracle!

Maya demonstrated multiple tricks (going from down to a sit on one command, going to a mat and lying down, etc.) and managed to do everything PERFECTLY! I was as surprised as everyone else.. she was having an extra good day I guess?

Our trainer also said we were a great pair and asked me to be her assistant trainer for her next session of classes!!

German Shepherds Dogs don't do tricks, they obey
commands, follow instructions, listen, etc. tricks
are for those other dogs.

Haha.. sure. Tell that to Rin Tin Tin

Although the teacher did tell Maya today that she expects more from her
because she is a shepherd and therefore smarter than the other dogs in the class.

Hopefully my classmates did not overhear that.

Congrats to you both!

And GSD's can be great at trticks!

Our male GSD actually won a Dog Tricks competition show at my wife's company - about 20 dogs get up in front of a large boisterous audience (Charity fund raising event!) and he performed like a proven vetran to win the vote in a landslide dethroning the 2 time champion (some little fluffy white thing!).
