I mentioned a while back having issues with Baxter in the car. "Issues" is a pretty minor description. He HATED seeing other people/dogs outside of "his" car. He would go bonkers - barking, lunging at the window...totally out of control. I have a small car, so a crate in there was not an option. I tried the seatbelt harness for him...he got so tangled up in it that I was afraid he would end up breaking a leg. After hearing from some other people who dealt with the same issues, I was afraid we wouldn't be able to overcome this problem.
Now? He's an angel. He still barks every once in a while, but for the most part, he's content to sitting in the back seat and watching the world go by. It took training. It took a lot of time and energy sitting in the car with him and setting up scenarios with his trainer. It took voice corrections, e-collar corrections to snap him out of it and remember that he has to listen to me. It was NOT EASY. But we made it there. I have my wonderful, polite passenger back, and I couldn't be happier! We're also making leaps and bounds of progress in his other problem areas. So, so proud of my boy right now.
