Today was our 2nd session with a private in the home trainer. He wanted to see how Isa's "stay" was.
I was using "high value" treats and also had my other two dogs in the room. He had me put her in a stay, stand about 8 feet from her and asked me to drop several of the treats on the floor in front of me. My response was "the other dogs are going to rush over and gobble it". He said that was fine, they weren't on a "stay". To my utter amazement, Isa stayed. The other dogs as predicted rushed over to gobble and she didn't move until I released her. I was sooooo proud! However, I am not convinced it wasn't a fluke! |
