Red face She surprises me sometimes!

Zira has been fantastic, so I must do some bragging!

Since the SO has been in NJ until next Monday, Zira and I have been at my family's house. We have a bunch of family over for the holidays: my sister, her husband, the 4 young kids (all under 6 years old!), and of course, their ferret. The two older kids have been playing with Zira ALL day, and she has been very gentle! What I thought would be a mad house is actually turning out to be a wonderful learning experience for Z. She is playing very nicely! So proud of her!

Then tonight as I was going to take her out for the usual walk, the two older kids ask if they could come help walk her. They both got a turn "walking" her (I had the main leash in my hand and they had the little loop, this way I always had control, just in case). She was SOOOO good for them! They learned how to use the heel command, having her stop and sit, and of course gave her lots of pats and praises! She listened so well to the kids, I was shocked! Very cool!

My big girl is growing up!

My boy amazes me for the same reason. DH & I don't have any kids, but when our nieces & nephews visit, Panzer is all about playing with them. When they play tug, he adjusts his pull just to their strength - normally he just about pulls DH off his feet! The kids, in their little kid voices, can get Panzer to do any of his basic obedience commands. They love it!

Good girl Zira!!!

She is the same way! Normally she will tug us around and we are still working on how to react to people coming in and out of the house. She gets FAR too excited and jumps on people, and will not leave them alone! However, with the kids, she is SOOOO gentle!! She doesn't jump on them, she is very calm (for the most part), she doesn't pull too hard, and listens really well to them. It's amazing how they can do that! Plus, it's cute!
