I have a new foster who is part husky. He has turned out to be a little escape artist and is constantly trying to get out of the front door. He's gotten out twice, but both times, we were able to grab him before he left the porch.
Well today, I went out to get the mail. When I was coming back in, I tried to block him, but he squeezed right past me! He was off and running! I didn't even think, and just turned around and ran after him. I had to run all the way down the street, across a busy street, and into a retention ditch. I finally did catch him (thank God that he has to pause to mark everything). So as I was on my way back with him, I realized that I had never stopped to close the door! So I am in a panic! I all but ran back to the house! When I got there, there was Cheyenne at the WIDE OPEN front door...just sitting there waiting for us! I was SO proud of her! She is only 11 months old, and knew better than to take off at the open door! I gave her lots of treats and kisses for being such a good girl!!!

Yup. And the touch command. Have your daughter and her friends help by making it game with him. Always treated and rewarded for touch. If he runs again, "Tugger, touch!".

As sad as it is to say, I was honestly expecting the worst! I think I am equally amazed as I am proud! I never in a million years would have thought that she would just stay there and wait for me! I just can't seem to give her enough love tonight!
