Kaiser and Raven go lure coursing!

I spent the weekend at Fido's Festival USA in NJ this weekend and they had a lure course setup all weekend. It was to raise money for canine cancer so I bought a bunch of runs to keep the dogs busy while we took breaks from our rescue table.

Kaiser took 8 runs. His first one was 16 seconds on Sat. His 2nd run was 14:01. On Sun, Kaiser started out at 12:68, then 12:40, then 12:11 and ended with 11:93!

Raven had 5 runs and her first run was also around 16 seconds and then her and Kaiser raised each other. Kaiser came in at 12:48 and Raven was not far behind him.

Raven's times were 13:51 and 13:25. Raven's prey drive is lower and she is taller, heavier than Kaiser.

By Sat, I could only bring Kaiser over to the course is he'd only have to wait a few minutes because he would whine, bark, lunge and shake because he was so excited!

Kaiser's 12:68 run. He jumps the fence at the end to get the lure. Luckily he never broke the line (others did) and we were able to catch him before he got the lure by the end.

That is GREAT!!! What crazy fun to see your dogs run like the wind! Big improvement in times too. Loved the finish with Kaiser jumping the fence.

Yippie Skippie they look like they had alot of fun. I think my two would love to do that. Do Raven and Kaiser practice this at home?? Or did you just plan on going? Thank you for sharing.

We just went, it was our first time doing anything like that. I am searching for people that do this around here and found a group 2.5 hours away which is the closest so far. The people who ran the runs at the festival were actually from Texas!
