Default Proud of my puppy's progress

Luna has always been more on the timid side. I began taking her to puppy socialization/puppy play time for six weeks now. Originally she was placed in with the smaller dogs despite being larger than them all because she was so gentle (and hiding under chairs from dogs half her size!). The past few weeks, though, she's been doing really well. She's in the larger dogs play time now with one other GSD, two saint bernard pups (that are ridiculously huge!), a stafford terrier mix, and a golden retriever. Now she no longer hides under the chairs and actually plays. She's been doing so well. Even though it's probably ridiculously dorky, I'm just glad that she's engaging other puppies. Even on walks she's doing well with other barking dogs. She doesn't pull on the leash to get away any more and just walks by (mostly ignoring, though occasionally barking).

Tonight one of the Saint Bernard pups was getting really aggressive. He kept barking in her face, snapping at her back tail, and growling. Instead of retreating beneath the chair like she used to, she'd bark back then start playing with the other pups. Call me weird if you like, but it's nice to see that socialization is paying off!

Not weird at all! It's totally normal to be proud of your pup. Great job Luna!!

Congrats on your success! It's really nice to see one's dog go from being afraid of something to enjoying it!

Congrats to you and Luna!!! Always so amazing when we see progress in our pups. No you are not weird for being so proud, I celebrate every night with Kona that her spay incision is healing nicely! Now THAT is weird! LOL
