Default Good Boy Frank!

Our local TSC is having a pet appreciation day today. So I took Frank down to see how he would do with the crowd, balloons, dogs up for adoption, being weighed and body analysis.
He handled it all Great, he ignored all the dogs even the ones that barked and growled, (we could hear several get into what sounded like small scuffles). The can blowing up the balloons he perked his ears at and watched along with the giant man sized dog costume walking around.
They had a back room where a local animal hospital was doing dog weights, body analysis, heartworm tests, and nail trims for donations to the animal shelter. We just did the first 2 but by the time we left all the techs insisted on petting him which he loved.
I was impressed with the vet. who did his body analysis, she said she thought he was perfect the way he was but to watch as he matured that he didn't need to pick up weight since shepherds really need to be kept lean, she discribed how he should look and feel around the ribs just like everyone on this forum has said.
Frank's about 28inches at the shoulder and weighed 86 pounds today.
He was such a Good Boy he was fine with anyone who wanted to pet him but totally ignored everything else, and watched me all the time.

On a weird side note I had at least 3 people approach me so they could share their stories of shepherds that started out great but growled at somebody so the owners had to get rid of them because you know they can turn on you at any time.

Sounds like Frank deserves a big ATTA BOY for doing such a excellant job of representing his breed. It doesn't hurt any that he is such a handsome boy.

Thanks! Frank's 15 mos. now but when he was about 8 mos. he went through a period where he barked at everything and everyone, it was embarassing to take him to a store or have him meet people, I was afraid he might not be my go everywhere dog that I wanted so much, but I read through threads here and started training concentrating on meeting strangers and strange things as much as I do the obed. part of heel, sit, stay etc. and now....
I think I may just have my go everywhere dog.
