Default So excited!

Blitz has been reactive/"dog aggressive" pretty much for as long as I've owned him (1 1/2 years). He's a dog who has poor dog social skills and has a track record of attacking other dogs. So I contacted a trainer and the progress has been astounding. Before I was never able to walk down the street if there was another dog on the other side without him snarling, lunging and generally throwing a fit.

Here's a picture I snapped during this morning's training session.

Left to right: Ox, Pepper, Blitz, Woody, and Atlas: His new walking companions, they may not be best friends yet, but he's getting there. He even licked Pepper's ear while they were all laying in the grass next to each other.
This would never have happened a few months ago, I'm so proud of my boy and so glad that I decided that his issues were too great to handle on my own and contacted a trainer.

Next session we're doing some hiking with his new companions and I can't wait.

Awesome! I'm happy your dog is getting more socialized and the training is helping out.

Fabulous! Dogs are social creatures but we have to help that along sometimes. I think it is wonderful you recognized the probelm and found a solution other than relagating him to the backyard.

So what did the trainer suggest to address the problem?
