My eight month old just learned to swim today!!!! Yippee!!!
I'm so excited. I know, not a huge accomplishment, as dogs DO swim. lol But it was super cute watching him. He kept testing the water a little bit at a time. Then watching a lab swim back and forth, he went in...but only where he could stand. Then I got a tennis ball, and he couldn't refuse fetch. He went in and was splashing like crazy. Panic swimming. By the end of the day, he was swimming into the deep end, no problem...and he wasn't frantic anymore. One hour of swimming = happy dog He's been passed out for the last 3 hours. I think the mental and physical drain of his first swim really got him.

wow, he learned to swim on his first swim.
it took my dog a few summers before he was really swimming. being proud feels so good.
