Took Daktoa camping last week and we got a lot of compliments about her behaviour.
We've been to this provincial park 2 years ago and still have the same complaint against it. The dogs there are crazy. There are so many of them too! You could not walk by most camp sites with dogs - either with or without our dog - without being barked at agressively. Calm dogs were few. When dogs would walk by our campsite Dakota just looked. We had the water tap just infront of our site and many people told us how well behaved our dog was and it was nice to see a GSD, or any dog, that was not territiorial about strangers coming so close to them. Dakota is not good with dogs who get in her face. The campsite opposite us was occupied by a group of women with their 4, or maybe it was 5 dogs. They did not tie their dogs up at the campsite and they were running all over the road and their neighbours camp site. I was on edge and guard in case one of them came our way. Of course the minute I go into my trailer (husband was outside) one dog comes right up to her. As I came out of the trailer they were nose to nose. I told the owner to remove her dog as this may not go well. The dog retreated. Thankfully it did go well and she made sure it did not happen again. |
