Today Dh and I were going to another town about 1.5 hrs awway. This meant we would be gone a min of 6 hrs. So we took Sassy with us instead of leaving her crated. She rode in the jump seat area of our extend cab ranger. With her head on the center console-she then went to sleep.
She was mostly well behaved. We stopped for lunch on the way-and we sat at the outside tables. There were big trucks, loud engines and people going by-didn't phase her a bit. We make our rounds and at one place a woman and her 2 girls come in-"Mommy, mommy a doggy" The lady asked if the girls could pet the puppy-they were about 2 and 5. I made Sassy sit-she is 4.5 months old and as big as the little girl. She was a very good girl. She didn't sit/stay, but her rear end did stay on the ground. She offered her paw for a shake and was going to give the littlest girl puppy kisses. The littlest girl just laughed and laughed. Then a woman came in with the smallest yorkie I have seen yet! Her dog saw my dog and peed!! I told her Sassy wouldn't hurt her dog she was just a puppy. The woman said her dog didn't like other dogs and she picked up the neurotic hair ball. So progress with socialization.

Congrats! Though I'm not surprised.
How sad for that poor Yorkie. Most of the Yorkies I've known have been outgoing, fearless, personable guys, including those that weren't well bred, but the neurotic, shaky ones are ghastly. I'm not opposed to small dogs, including very small, but they should be mentally, physically & emotionally sound. |
