Most sable dogs come directly from DDR bloodlines.

How accurate is that assessment? Will all sables have DDR's in thei background?

Cheers,

J.

No.
Sable is just as common in the West German Working lines.

Decidedly false, there are many dogs even from the Am lines that have sable in them that have been here since well before the wall.

Sable as a color has been around since well before the wall.

DDR is sort of characterized by the very dark sables, but it by no means created them.
