If the problems result from breeding negative recessives too close together....then what is the cause of the problems?
Can anybody tell me why SV frowns on very close line breeding and actually prohibits too close line breeding? Fairly simple question. |

Your first statement was correct. If they are line bred too closely you will have a greater chance of perpetuating genetic problems. Which is not worth it.
When done at the proper interval you can get the good traits grandpa had without too great of a risk that genetic problems arise in the offspring. This is why we have many unique breeds of purebred dogs. If you think about it, every breed had to be created this way because domestic dogs didn't evolve into how they look. We made them this way. |
