I know exactly what you mean! Tanner is not the first registered dog I have owned, and I was even involved in AKC conformation events years ago. But I do love looking and pedigrees and studying lines, etc.

I am the same way with my horse. He is a registered Arabian, with some illustrious names (his great-grandmother has her own Breyer's model) in his pedigree. I see it as having a piece of living, breathing history.
