What would you consider Balen?

I know nothing --and I mean NOTHING-- about lines; but he looks to me like a well-bred working line. I wonder what his story is... If only he could talk!

If I saw you walking down the street with him I'd assume you had paid $1500 for him from a working line breeder.

Mostly working lines, maybe some byb lines in there. His ear set is odd for a well-bred working line, as is his tailset, but I'm awfully picky about structure. Many breeding working lines, or what were working lines a couple generations back, aren't nearly as concerned with structure, so his bloodlines may be all working lines.

Are you talking about how far apart his ears sit on his head or the shape of his ears? Or both?

He was a rescue, so I dont have his pedigree....thats why I was asking, lol.

He simply has "wide set ears"......no better...no worse than many GSD dogs of both bloodlines (WL & SL).
He looks to be a WL dog......who knows....he *may* have a great pedigree??, just because he ended in a shelter or rescue, says nothing about his lineage...
Be thankful that he stays healthy.....THAT is what is important.
