Default Pedigree input wanted

This is the dam to the upcoming litter:
Sascha Von Der Shap Haus - German Shepherd Dog

The sire's pedigree is here:
http://www.vonshap.com/files/mr_brown_pedigree_001.jpg

His sire is on PDB: V Felix vom Haus am Lerchenweg - German Shepherd Dog

But his dam is American lines and is not on the database, but I did find her on OFA: Orthopedic Foundation for Animals

This puppy is the replacement puppy for Berlin. I know it's a complete mix of 3 different lines, but was wondering if anyone had a guess as to what is good/bad in the lines? Thanks in advance!

Have you asked the breeder what made him/her put these two dogs together?

Why the mixing of the lines? What does he hope to achieve?

There is no real pattern in the breedings that I can see, with the DDR, then show etc all mixed together?

It somewhat looks like a "guess work" pedigree. Like they may have just put two dogs together.

But that is MY opinion, because I would never put these dogs together, because what I would want to breed for would not be achieved with these lines. I would be interested in knowing what the breeder is breeding for. That might explain all of the mixing.

Sorry, I guess this post may not be super helpful.

Looks like potluck. Not sure what is expected to be gained or what the goal might be for the breeding. I'd ask the breeder and see what they say.

I know she is good friends with the breeder/owner of the sire. The litter that Berlin came from was similarly mixed (same dam) with different dogs, but blended showlines (her sire was also W. German and American show). She likes to produce pets that can work, but don't need to. Also ones that move well without being extreme in terms of toplines. I guess you'd say a more middle ground type dog that would appeal to a large number of pet owners. Instead of breeding working dogs for working homes, or show dogs for show homes. She focuses more on temperament than on workability. Now with Berlin, she is very friendly but also very drivey - I would like a less drive this next time around! She is such a busy girl and I don't know that I could handle a second one just like her!

The bitch's sire, Ch. Keylis Purple Rain, is the sire of Ch. Nocturne's Navigator SchH 3.

Maybe the sire just come in hand, or is cheap/free to use? It sounds like the breeder is mixing available dogs, without much thought in the pedigrees. I'd love to know what is the purpose if not, though the pedigrees you posted look nice, each on their own.

I'd also like to know the definition of "work" of the breeder.

I like him! He is a really well balanced dog from the photos I have seen of him.

In regards to work, I just know that she intends her puppies to go mostly as pets to pet homes that want a good all around dog. Not one that needs to be in a home where they have goals such as Schutzhund or where the dog needs a job to be happy. Only a handful of her puppies have gone to other breeders, most are sold as pets. So she is not breeding for lazy, do nothing dogs but neither is she breeding for dogs that have to be doing something constantly. Berlin seems to have fallen on the upper end of the middle of that spectrum and this next pup I would prefer to be more in the middle. Many of her pet homes do obedience/agility with their pups so they have to have the drive for that. In fact, had Berlin's hips been better she would have made a good starter agility dog for me. She certainly has a sound temperament!

1/2 sibling to your Berlin who you love, I say trust your breeder, she has been good to deal with, does her health checks and has an explanation for why she is doing what she is doing, you will end up with what you are looking for, I am sure...enjoy and good luck
