Hello Everyone,
I'm a new poster and have really enjoyed reading this forum and am learning more everyday about this awesome breed. My first GSD was a rescue (turned out to be from a white shepherd dam and black and silver sire and was gotten rid of because his ears didn't stand ) and I was lucky enough to spend eight amazing years with him. My new girl, Asia is from West German showlines. Here is her pedigree... Asia vom Weidenhaus - German Shepherd Dog I got her when she was nine months old. (long story )Her breeder was excellent and gave me a good starting tutorial in deciphering the bloodlines, but I would love any info you guys are willing to share. I also know that her parents have been OFA'd (good for both) and her mother Abagayle has received her CD. I am also starting to learn about Schutzhund. Asia and I are enjoying working on marker training right now. I grew up with working border collies so I have an understanding of the difference in drives, but you have to start somewhere!I would love to rescue/rehome a working line GSD sometime in the future. Thanks so much! |

I can't help with the pedigree but there are others who can.
Sometimes the thread title isn't clear enough to draw attention. If you say "help with pedigree" or something then that will draw attention to those who are good at reading pedigrees. I'm guessing but those dogs look like show lines so you could als send a private message. Perhaps Andaka or Robin Huerta. Don't give up. It also depends on who is online.

Looks like German Showlines to me. Sorry I can't tell you more about them.

Thanks for your help so far. I really appreciate it! I was hoping there might be someone familiar with any dog in her lineage and could share their characteristics, good or bad. I understand that the titles earned by some of her relatives could just be an indication of strong training and don't necessarily mean that my showline pup could ever duplicate those results. Still, it's interesting to try and figure out what she could be capable of doing or if their are any strong traits or physical limitations in that gene pool. Again, thanks so much for your time. I'm not trying to get people to do the work for me, just really value your input and expertise! |

I have Asia's half brother... Keinos Alton Langan - German Shepherd Dog
Apparently from what I have been able to gather, Asia's and Keinos's great grandfather was quite the champion. I know at least their father's side history has both working and show lines. Or so I've been told by several people I have spoken to about Keinos's bloodline. |
