The sire is West German show lines.
The dam is a mix of West German show lines and working lines, with a few generations of what looks to be America "pet" breeding in there, but with those dogs also going back on a mix of German show and working.

majority west german show, and two stray lines to DDR (Tino Felsenschloss).
I don't see so much american pet (minimal in the overall) as a person experimenting with ddr / show lines under their own name , which is very close and can be mistaken for haus Kuhn (Adam Kuhn) , in fact there is Orlo haus Kuhn on the pedigree. Tell us about the dog . I have always been curious to study a show line / ddr combination. I would not recommend it personally . HOWEVER, your friend wants a pet . He/she needs to visit the breeder and they need to ask the questions and get a feel for the dog. He needs to understand the dog . Check out the dam . While visiting with my sister who just lost her dog , she was watching a program called "pick a pup" or something to that effect. It is a goofy "reality" show where a family is taken around to 3 sets of local breeders representing 3 different breeds. At the conclusion the family is to choose the breed and the pup they like the most. I had trouble watching it --- first dog under consideration , GSD. Show lines. The couple and children are seated on a couch , there is a bit of preamble where the breeder rides on the coat tails of the GSD "legend" as if all are equal and one and the same. Next scene french door opens in comes the dam and 3 or 4 pups in the 12 to 16 week range. The dam is all hyper tail wagging excitement pushes the pups out of the way to get her share of pats, licks the people , lays on the floor belly up for a scratch , wiggling and pawing . The poor kid looks at the double row of shrinking nipples and doesn't know where to scratch the insistent dog. Meanwhile the pups were craddle like babies . A lot of cooing , and aren't they lovely type remarks. Gag . Next breed in contention , German Shorthaired pointer. I don't remember the other breed. I was told that the family chose the GSD. Another cheaply produced non scripted reality show . Bad choices , bad information, bad concept. Carmen Carmspack Working German Shepherd Dogs |
