Question Female in heat with new carpet

I have a 2 year old female who is about ready to go into her heat cycle and has never worn any type of panties or underwear. Is there a certain brand or type that works better than others? The last place we lived everything was hardwood or washable. Now we live in a house with all carpet. My first thought was to block off the kitchen but it is too open and no gate is wide enough. Thanks for any pointers!

I have also used adult depends and just cut a hole for the tail. Worked great!
