Default Life with intact female and intact male (vasectomy-ed)

Has anyone ever had a situation in which you had an intact female and an intact male, undergone a vasectomy so he is sterile? In a year or so I would love to et a female and leave her intact, at least for a few heats. They could mate with resulting in a litter. I am just wondering if this will mean chaos and a change in the male's behavior after the heat.
DDog is not breed worthy so a vasectomy would be in place in that situation or actually before I get a female.

Sounds very annoying. I wouldn't do. It would be gross to have an infertile, but still hormonally intact male constantly tying with your female. You would end up separating them most of the time, and dealing with all the intact male issues anyway. Someone else could weigh in, but such behavior could also increase risk of pyometra in the female.

He will be at her many times a day for at least three days during standing heat. I would almost consider it abuse of the female to allow him free access to her just because he can't make puppies. Not to mention exhausting for him. And vasectomies can fail in people, so why not in dogs. Either neuter him or plan to separate and supervise during the heat cycles.
