Rattlesnake vaccine

Just wondering about the rattlesnake vaccine. Couldnt find a thread on one. We go in rattlesnake areas and are thinking about the vaccine. What age should it be given at the earliest iand is it a good idea?

I started a thread on the subject a while back, here's a link:

(Sorry if the link doesn't work, I don't know how to attach links)

Anyways, I live in a high snake area and decided against the vaccine.
Read through the thread and see if it's something you would want to do.
There might be other members that have given the vaccine.

I don't think it worked. Search Anti Venom vaccine

There is a fellow in WA that does Rattlesnake avoidance training for all breeds of dogs.

I learned that in WA (at least) there are two types of rattlers and that the Vet's office does not carry ANY anti-venom for Veterinary use. They have to request anti-venom from the Hospital for emergency treatment for any Animals.

And by the time you may get your bitten animal to a Vet's office, then request the anti-venom, it may be too late.

I do not honestly know if the vaccine is good or bad.

But if you can find an avoidance trainer, that may be the best thing.
