I just went through this. I shopped for about two-three weeks. Google on the internet and you'll find lots of information. Look for plans that cover congenital and hereditary illnesses, lifetime coverage for chronic illnesses, and annual deductible choices. Some have annual reimbursement limits (not too bad). Look out for the ones with "schedule" plans because they won't cover a lot of what will need to be done. They typically won't cover any wellness for the pet (vaccines, dental hygiene, flea/tick control, etc); and none of them will cover pre-existing conditions, so you want to get the insurance as soon as you get your puppy (something I wish I could go back and change). You really have to search for what suits you best. These are the ones that liked, in order of preference:
Healthy Paws (this is the one I went with)
I didn't really care for any of the other ones.
