Default Zira is getting spayed!

We have FINALLY reached a point with her weight and overall health to make an appointment for her spay! She is going in on January 24th. This was the earliest we could get... it's also my birthday. So I guess this birthday will be spent baby-ing the dog instead of my awesome steak dinner. Oh well, just happy to know I will never deal with a heat cycle again with her! Thank god!

I must say though.... I am SUPER nervous about putting my pup under the knife. I will be pacing the house that day (I took the day off from work) until I get that call.

Excited to finally be getting this done though. This is a huge milestone for us with her. Hopefully all goes well and without any complications!

I hear you and I'll pray for a successful and uneventful surgery, with a speedy recovery. Surgery of any kind is always scary. I was a basket case when I got my rabbit neutered. The vet thought I was crazy. Sure - Routine for them, but not for us. I know you will be relieved when it is over.

Best wishes. I know how you feel. I was the same way.

Thank you everyone!! We definitely hope all goes without any issues. The place doing it has done many of my friends and family's dogs & cats and have always done a fantastic job with no issues at all. So I am as positive as I can be about it!

Thank you! And oh I know! I just had to deal with the SO having surgery a few days before Christmas up in NJ..... I was at work and a complete basket case for sure! I don't show it to the one going into surgery.... but I am the pacing, looking at my phone watching almost every minute go by, getting grey hairs by the second type when it comes to those things. lol, It's never a fun time.. I will be extremely relieved once this is done and over with..... and even more so once she is fully healed.

I know exactly how you feel.

My pup gets spayed tomorrow morning!

I have wanted to cancel the appt, even though this is for her health and well-being. Why else would I pay someone to take healthy parts out of my healthy dog? That underlying attitude is making me pretty nervous, but I know I need to do it.

I'm still pretty nervous. I have had a few moments of complete dread about it...the way she looks at me all happy, and I think "oooooh if only you KNEW what I have planned for you!" LOL

Its all good though
