I am taking Duke (5 y/o GSD) to the groomers on Friday.
Duke is having skin problems right now. I feel pretty sure he has yeast overgrowth. Possibly allergies as well. (Stinky musty/corn chip smell, constant scratching, flaking, and recently developed small red spots with white heads on them) We will be taking him to the vet for this, but in the meantime I want to purchase our own shampoo and request the groomer use it on him. I don't like not knowing what they are putting on his skin/coat. I would like a shampoo that is good for treating/reducing yeast. I know tea tree oil is antiseptic and antifungal, so I may look for a shampoo containing tea tree. But do you have any other recommendations? I don't want a shampoo full of chemicals or fragrances. I also don't want an oatmeal shampoo as the grains can worsen the yeast. With that in mind, do you all have any specific shampoo recommendations? Thanks in advance! |
