I have a quick question-
I have been feeding my GSD the BARF diet for about 2 months now. When feeding him muscle meats, do I need to account for how much fat he is getting? For example I feed him 9.75 ounces of muscle meat a meal, usually I am pretty good at getting at least 75% meat and 25% fat in the 9.75 ounces. Should that 9.75 ounces account for just straight meat and not fat?
The reason I ask, is I get a pretty good deal at getting scraps from the local butcher, and sometimes I get a lot of fat and not a lot of meat that week. But if I need to be feeding him more meat then I will buy more and trim more fat off.
