Veggies and Dairy addition to meals..

Just curious on thoughts.. I just started a new diet with Titan because of his allergies.. mornings is kibble and evenings is premade raw.. NV Instinct Organic Chicken to be exact.

Anyways.. with his raw I give him some variety.. not the same every night, but anywhere from sweet potatoes, green beans, bananas, and plain yogurt or cottage cheese.

I have read many different things, veggies and dairy aren't good for dogs, are good for them, or that it's not bad for them but not necessary.

Is this just kind of up to me, or is it actually bad for him?

If you are just starting a new diet then I would omit adding veggies or diary until you see how the new diet is working. We were very pleased with NV raw.

For some dogs with GI problems adding veggies is OK if finely chopped and cooked, as for diary I would only give a heaping tablespoon as a treat once a day. As with everything, moderation is key.

Oh ok. He has always eaten those things, and they didn't come up as an allergen on his test.. so would you still hold off for a bit? He doesnt' seem to have issues, it's been about a week and he still has firm stools, eats all his food, and same energy. His itchign has decreased significantly too..

Glad someone else has used NV Raw.. it seemed like a good product I just hadn't heard of anyone who used it.

We use NV raw 50% and The Honest Kitchen 50%. There are a lot of veggies in THK, so we never feel the need to add. If your dog is doing well as is, then I think you will see a great improvement using NV raw, better stools, no itching or redness on skin, few GI upsets. Our dog had colitis so that is why we have to be careful what we feed. It seemed like kibble upset her a lot. Not sure if it was the texture or the way the food was processed.

I'm glad yours is doing well on it too! I will eventually go to 50/50 but right now I'm doing 75/25. Just for expenses and seeing how he does with the first month. I have him 75% on NV LID Duck kibble then the organic Chicken Raw. But I didn't see one tiny ingredient in the kibble that is on his list of allergens. Luckily it was the lowest reaction you can get on anything, so the vet said that he should be virutally unaffected by it, stupid Peas :p Have you heard of Canine Caviar?
