sensitive stomache, will RAW help?
Hi. We have an almost 2 year old Shepard mix we rescued a few months ago, and she has a very sensitive stomach. There is not much in the way of diarrhea, but she does vomit often - probably averages once or twice a week, although she has gone maybe two weeks without any episodes. What's sorta strange is that she will go days or longer with no issues, and then she will throw up out of nowhere. I feed her Wolf King from Solid Gold and the raw boost chicken formula from Natures Variety, so she's getting good quality kibble. She doesn't deal well with changes to her diet (can you say vomit?). Has anyone switched a dog to RAW with similar stomach issues? If so, how did you fare? Other info: She has tons of energy, but she could put on a few pounds. Otherwise she's been really a great dog.
switch on over to the Raw feeding threads. There is a ton of info on there regarding sensitive stomachs and feeding raw. Our pup had lots of trouble and the raw was a miracle worker. First thing I recommend though is trying to determine the cause of the upset. Nature's Variety raw boost is too rich for Maverick. I have to watch fat % closely.
