Raw diet/Austin TX area
Trying to find a good place to buy meat from. Right now I buy my meat from Fiesta. But I'm trying to find places that mark down the price per pound for bulk buyers. Anyone in the Austin area get your chicken for 50 cents or cheaper a pound for like a 10-20 pound bag? Need to make a run tonight so quick advice would be great. Again I'm in Austin. South austin to be more specific.
Thanks! |
Any of the Mexican Carnicerias... also MT Supermarket at Kramer and Lamar.... its a gigantic, Walmart sized Asian grocery.... besides that, right now you can get deer ribs from Hudson's on Congress....
I'm in Austin as well... good to see a fellow Austinite Joe |
Fiesta does have whole chickens at 69¢ a pound right now though... but you should be able to find leg quarters in 10 pound bags for under $6.00 at one of the places I mentioned

I just went to Fiesta tonight off 35/Stassney and 89 cents a pound for a whole chicken was all I could find. I also was going to wait for all of his adult teeth came in before let him tackle a whole chicken. I will check out those other places and see what I can find. My friend up north also owns a GSD and tells me about monthly meet ups or something along those lines. Are you a part of those? I was thinking about attending a few after Jax's toe heals. Thanks for the advice!

Hi,
We live in Austin too and have a 5 month old GSD pup. Have you gone to any of the meet ups yet? Just wondering what you thought about them if you had. Thanks! |
I have not been to any of the meets. My dog is healing from a broken toe. I have a friend that has been to a couple supposedly and he says they are nice.
