Mina (my 4 month old GSD) survived day one of her raw diet. I fed her:
.945 pounds of chicken quarter - breakfast 1.05 pounds of chick breast - dinner .105 pounds of chicken gizzerds - dinner 1 tbl spoon of salmon oil - dinner I have never seen her so excited to eat! It was a joy to watch. I am still looking for a cheaper way to feed her. For now I going to the grocery store :/ How am I doing so far? I based it off a projected adult weight of 70 pounds and gave 3% of that. |

I would add some Whear Germ and plain yogurt or cottage cheese. Some don't agree but I do a handful of broccoli too and a egg a few times a week. But yay!! I wish Titan ate like that, we'll see if things change when Athena gets here

Congrats! Our pup is 13.5 weeks and has been on raw even before we got him at 8 weeks. He loves it too! Started out with chicken as you have. We're now introducing beef. He loves that too. We started by giving just a little beef in the morning meal so we could watch for allergies. They say a few different proteins is what you should target, so we started supplementing with a little turkey as well. On the next co-op raw order, we're going to try some duck necks. Of course a little cottage cheese and/or plain yogurt. Need to get back to the occasional egg too.

Sounds good to start! Keep her only on chicken RMB and MM for a week or so to make sure her system is not sensitive to chicken. Her poops might be runny at first because of the change in diet, but should firm up. In a few days introduce chicken livers in very small amounts.

I always start pup on chicken backs. Lots of bone to help with stool formation. I feed backs only for several days (5 to 7) then add chicken leg quarters by alternating with the backs. Morning: chicken back; evening chicken leg quarter. Do this for a week. Then I introduce pork - again by alternating with chicken leg quarters ( the leg quarters usually contains very small amounts of organ so I do not add organ meat specifically). After a week of pork, then I would introduce beef. After a week of beef, try a meal or two of fish. Notice I do not add organ meat until a month or so after beginning the raw diet. Organs can and often do lead to cannon butt explosions if you are not careful. Small amounts is key. i would use the raw vegetables as treats i.e. carrots, broccoli, sweet potato ...
