First and foremost.. Titan is LITERALLY the most picky eater I have ever had...
So I tried to test Titan's new Raw diet. I had a few gizzards left from the Turkey for thanksgiving that I saved. Some liver and a heart. Thought what the heck, I'll see if he'll eat it. When I pulled it out he was so excited. He doesn't gulp his food so I just cut everything in half... I don't think I had ever seen him so excited to eat before.. I put it in the bowl.. and he took 2 sniffs and walked away. Tried siring it for a second to get the smells going.. nothing, still wouldn't eat it. I thought maybe he was just used to kibble so I should treat it like a new food and mix. Added kibble.. he ate the kibble. He keeps sniffing the meat though.. he goes back ever few minutes gives it a good once over.. then walks away, comes back and does it again.. I'm not sure what to do. Maybe he doesn't like liver? Was that a bad choice on my part? Is liver and heart for more experienced raw eaters... Advice please!!!!!

Liver can be something dogs don't like at first.
When I'm switching a new dog to raw I let them skip a meal - gets them good and hungry. Then I offer them the raw food and give them 15 minutes to eat. You can try feeding him in a crate so he can't really 'walk away' from the food.

The meal skipping actually sounds like a good idea. Often times he won't eat breakfast in the 20 minutes I give him, and that's just him being a butt head and stubborn because he's picky about kibble.. but by dinner he realizes that I mean business and will gobble up all of it. Don't know why I didn't think of that.. I'll try it.. when I try again you think I should do chicken and ground turkey first?
