Ava's 8 months and a week old, has been 100% raw for 4 full weeks + a week of satin ball / kibble mix to transition. She's always been a picky eater and on the very lean side. Her growth was always a couple weeks ahead of her weight gains. Her ribs were showing most of the time.
I moved to raw to see if it would help her eat more consistently and I believe its better for her. Well since the change she hasn't missed a meal. She is just 51.4 lbs now and about 22 1/2" tall. She looks great so I am not worried about her actual weight at all. She looks like she's put on a least 5 lbs, but she has only gained 1.0 lbs over this period of time. She's still very lean but looks and feels much more solid. You can easily feel the ribs but can't see them unless the light it right and she's stretched out. I was really curious if my skinny little girl may have been a little fat when I switched her over. Is it normal to have such positive changes show so little on the scale after the switch to raw? |

Many times the body tone changes...musclebuilding seems to happen when dogs are rawfed.
Though this may be happening due to your pups age...growth spurts slow down and the dog begins to build muscle at this time. You'll notice more of a difference in the coat and overall look after a few more months on raw(as long as you are feeding correctly) |
