I have a 17 month old male german shepherd and want to start raw feeding him. At his last vet visit in July he was 93 lbs. He is lean, just big. Mom was 92lbs and dad is 120lbs. What is the recommended daily amount of food for him and do you just start cold turkey and remove kibble all together or do a mixture for a few days?
Any input is appreciated. |

I have always started my dogs cold turkey.
You can give the kibble in the morning, then raw at night, don't mix it together . I would give him about 2 lbs of food a day. Where are you located? Join Yahoo Groups and look for raw feeding /barf group in your area, it's your best bet as far as price.

Just found a market here that has chicken leg quarters for .49 cents/lb and necks for .69 cents. Husband is there now and the butcher was in shock when he ordered 30 lbs of the leg quarters and had to ask his boss if he could sell that much.
