Hi there! Our 18 month old GSD has recently stopped eating (on several occasions) the poultry parts of his meals (chicken, turkey and duck). He will eat if he is starved due to excessive amounts of exercise in the day but on several occasions he has left it in his bowl and would not eat it when trying to hand feed it to him. He eats the pork, beef, tripe and other meats like usual.
We aren't sure if his SIBO has been acting up, or whether he has gotten more picky or perhaps sick of poultry. He seems fine otherwise and his stools are fairly consistant! Has anyone else experienced this? |

Can you change vendor? Odin stopped eating the chicken backs I get from Vendor A, but ever since I started getting chicken frames from Vendor B, he's fine with it. Weird right?

We had thought about that when he stopped eating his chicken backs - thinking maybe it was a bad batch of chicken but he also didn't eat the turkey from a different vendor, and duck from a third vendor! He ate his chicken leg 1/4 last night after he had a very active day, I will see how it goes over the next 2 days.
Thanks for the advice! |

So he's eating the BONELESS meats with no problems - just not the bones?
Does he eat boneless chicken?

Yes, he will eat boneless chicken and in the past 2 days he has eaten his chicken leg 1/4 but we tried to change to duck neck (normally he will eat turkey neck) and he won't eat it. He puts it in his mouth and lightly chews it for a few minutes but ultimately leaves it even if we try hand feed it.
