Has anyone had success on dehydrated raw? I've searched the website and see some people recommend Honest Kitchen, I have also seen ads for Addiction and our local pet store sells another brand (I forget) next to the regular raw.
Our dog has done very well on raw Nature's Variety and Primal, which we feed one meal a day. The other meal is dry, which she does not care for. I've been through so many brands, I am tired of switching and wasting food. Does the dehydrated raw contain additional vitamins/minerals or should I supplement? Does it cost less than real raw? Does your dog like it better than dry food? Any information on good brands and what to look for or what to avoid would be helpful. Last edited by Gretchen; 06-30-2011 at 07:43 PM. |

I feed my dogs Addiction dehydrated foods, and they like it. I have also fed Honest Kitchen foods, but my dog seems to like Addiction better. They like the frozen ones, like Nature's Variety, but it isn't sold near me, so I'd have to drive farther and then stock up, and I don't have the freezer space for that with two big dogs. I generally feed Addiction dehydrated lamb, and add stuff to it. It's very handy for travelling too. Be sure to shop around for it, because I've seen prices differ by as much as $25 or $30 per bag. If you try Honest Kitchen, try Embark or Force. All the Addiction ones are good, but I think the Lamb one is cheapest. Also, rehydrate with warm water, not cold, wait ten or fifteen minutes. My dogs like it as is, but I usually add something on top.
