Very excited for my girl! We have been working the 2x2 method, and have been able to get the offset between the first set and second set within 2" at home during my training. We are of course slowly reducing this offset to eventually zero, but for now we're down to two inches:
![]() But I am using poles at a 22" center (have no idea why I decided to build 22" instead of 24"). Also, I've had to tape the poles to the floor since Pimg brushes them as she weaves through and knocks them all over the place. In all- the set is serving its purpose just fine, but is pretty annoying to actually use... I'm using these (as posted in the DIY thread): ![]() Anyhow.... I got to class early because I wanted to work some weave training on the "real" equipment at the proper spacing. Pimg was doing so well, and weaving "with drive!!" (as my instructor put it). So because she was doing so well, I decided to see what she would do on a set of straight 6 poles. She got it!! Twice in a row! She wasn't consistent after that, so we went back to the 3 sets of offset 2x2s (6 poles total). But man... she got it! So very proud! My instructor is floored at her improvement from last week to this week and told me- "You guys have definitely been practicing at home, haven't you?" haha... why yes, yes we have. ![]() Here was our course for today, which I found incredibly fun. Not too hard at all- mostly stuff was inline with the next. There were some tricky parts to it for sure, but overall we did well. Since Pimg was doing so good on the offset 2x2's, I asked if we could add them to the course as an optional weave set. We did add it, and Pimg actually flew into the entry and weaved through all 6 during our run (twice)! I sure love this dog!! ![]()
