Guard dog rescue mission :)
i posted back in august about my Puppy German Shepherd
3-4 weeks after posting and joining this Fourm he passed away due to heart condition from Birth :(
But the puppies Dad is still being miss treated and unfed in the back of a pub we managed to get a key for the pad lock and me and my partner took a risk of trying to feed him and at first he was very aggressive but after feeding him and walking him with alot of risk to our self he has got used to us we now take him home on cold and wet nights.
He is fine with a hand full of people we have slowly introduced to him within our home.
We need some help to try and get him out of the aggression we see t to we are walking him and he sees people he tries to bite and attack
we dont want to report the owner to RSPCA as they will not be able to rehome him due to his role as a guard dog and because he tried to bite everybody when walking him he is a very calm and gentle dog within the home.
Has anybody got any suggestions how we can save the dog from the owner and they way of life he has got without reporting to RSPCA??
have attached some images of what he is like within the home will take some of where he has to live at the flat later on tonight
If you want to adopt this dog, why not approach the owner directly? When you do that understand that another dog will probably be put in the same situation.
If you want to continue walking his dog, you may want to look into "reactive dog" training so that he will not react to people and dogs on the street unless they are a true threat. This training, as I understand it, starts under threshold and works to gradually increase that threshold. Pat Miller is one person with a training program who has written several articles on this topic in Whole Dog Journal.
Thank you very much for the advice we have load of communication with the owner thats how we have got the key also when it starts to snow i dont think its fair to leave him out side with no shelter at all :(
