Making up after an accidental injury?
So I've really only had this issue once before when Faelan hurt his leg a few months ago, but now I've got another instance of growling.

When Faelan and I play, if I accidentally hurt him he's usually very quickly forgiven me and things go on. Well, last night, when my grandmother was playing with him, there was one of those "everything went wrong" chains. He turned his head just right as my grandma went to pet him, he moved forward, and long story short, he got jabbed inside his ear by one of her nails. Purely an accident.

Right now, they can coexist peacefully, but he's not offering to play with her and he's a little tense when she comes around him. This morning, he'll walk up and be near her, but if she tries to pet him, he growls, clearly saying he doesn't want it. Now it's not a major "go to the vet" problem like it was a month or two ago, so... I'm not sure what to do. Let him warm up naturally? I think he's associating the stab pain in his ear with her hand going to pet him now.

How can I have Faelan kiss and make up with my grandma? It's not like she intentionally meant to hurt him; accidents happen. But he's still rather sore about the issue.

Have Grandmom ignore him, no reaching towards him to pet. That growl is a warning, listen to it. He is approaching Grandmom, let him initiate contact. Once he has made it to sniffing, have Grandmom hold a stinky treat, again not offering it, but allowing him to take it from her hand.

Again, Grandmom can not reach for him to pet or scratch. He has to relearn that good things come from Grandmom.

does he like food/treats? Have your grandma toss him treats, slowly work up to handing him treats, let HIM make the decision to come to your grandma for the treats out of her hand...

I'd have her just leave him alone, only the treats for right now,,he'll learn GOOD things come from her/her hands, = treats..and most likely forgive her:)
