Default Dog food agression..help please!

hello people, i hav a dog food aggressive 11 month gsd named ozzy. The first time i saw this behavior was about 4 months ago when i got him one of those smoked giant bones to chew on..i made him sit and wait like i always hav wen feeding and left him to chew on it for a few minutes wen i came back to check on him, when i got close him growled and bit me..i scolded him and put him to the back yard...i gave it to him the next day he did it again so i disciplined him cesar milan style and then ignored him for like a day...after that he was cool..he let me aproach him and also left the bone when i called him..

This only happened with the bone...but about a month or two ago he started getting aggressive with his food...and ive always made him work for his food and interupted his feeding, pet him everything and he was fine...but now he will only eat the food without growling and biting out of my hand..if i hav him start to eat out of the bowl, even if i dont leave and comebak he wants to bite..its like he turns into a totally different dog!! any other time hes a happy ass dog...he whines when i leave him (not as much as he used to)..i spend the most time with him in the family..he is totally "my" dog...

I hav tried pain based training, positive reinforcement neither has really worked..im currently trying to use Michael Ellis style training (hes a trainer in Northern California). i jus watch his videos..im in southern california..he uses positive reinforcement with leash correction training..my dog is still aggresive and its the worst hes been...but once corrected a few times..hes good...but then hes starts to eat again..and once again gets aggressive...

He isalso hesitant to eat his food at meals as well...like im confusing him..
Im obviously not doing something right..i just dont want to screw him up..does anyone hav any advise or know any good behavioral trainers or experts in southern california...preferably the inland empire???

Sorry for such the long backstory..thanx

Find a good trainer that will work with you one on one would be my recommendation.

i agree with the trainer for i dont have an answer for the present behavior. Abbi used to be very protective of her food. I had stopped giving her raw hide so that wasnt an issue anymore and shed give a growl is you were around her food. To handle this with the pup since day 1 when she got her food i and was eating i would put my hand in the bowl so she got used to something being around while she ate. Obivously i wouldnt recommend you doing this with the present situation.

Maybe you should contact Anne Kent at Adlerstein. She is a well respected GSD breeder but she also does training and I think she meets your requirements; she is near Santa Clara.

It sounds like you are all over the place and I also wonder if you have taken away the food enough the dog is nervous about getting its food. Def think you need one on one help by an expert.

A trainer who recommends POSITIVE ONLY since this dog has been subjected to "pain based" training already and the "traditional" training, it seems, and they've failed.

This is a case where the dog may not have had issues but they were created. A trainer to help you undo the damage is essential.

I agree with finding a good trainer, and I hear Anne is the best

For now, I would NOT mess with his food, feed him in a crate if you have to, OR feed him by hand. I wouldn't give him any high value bones either..

Could the fact that i give him some raw food be contributing to an aggressive nature?
