Default Since there seem to be so many posts here...

I figured I'd share this site: http://drsophiayin.com/resources/dog_behavior

The behaviorist is a veterinarian who is mostly positive (though I've read some things that take her out of the positive purist grouping). The information on her site is very helpful and many of the links provide video or pictorial demonstrations of what to look for, what to do, etc.

It's just one of many resource out there...

Please share links to sites that have useful information about avoiding or remedying aggressive behaviors in dogs!!!

Thanks for sharing the site info!

When I looked at it, she does seem to be a positive rein. approach trainer - "a systematic, positive- reinforcement approach". I didn't look at all of her site just a couple of pages so I may well have missed a lot of her approach however.

I follow her on FB, she posted something about the use of remote collars once and though she didn't recommend them on the majority of dogs -- she understood their purpose.

I'm not a pos.purist trainer, so I tend to agree with trainers who seek moderation more than anything else!

Me too! Pos when I can but also sometimes my particular dog's temperament needs a reminder of who pays the bills, so to speak!
