Today Sasha and Fiz got in a brawl over a freaking STICK!!! Is there a way to train dogs not to be toy agressive? Acually, I think I know.....train Sasha not to try to steal the stick/toy from Fiz. Sooo, how to do that...
Sasha is such a brat. She wants anything somebody else has. She'll steal it then not even really want it most of the time. I keep all of the toys away inside and out, but Fiz will find the littlest twig and use it as a toy.

It sounds to me like Fritz is letting Sasha know when she's crossed the line. Barker the Younger had a few white spots on her face because Barker the Elder had to take it that far to get the point across.

I've had a problem with fights between Mac and Slider where toys are the trigger (Slider's the aggressor). One fight ended up with both boys needing medical treatment. Slider gets along fine with Bruiser and Faith with toys. My only solution is to ban Mac and Slider from playing with toys in the house (Bruiser and Faith are allowed to play since Slider ignores them). I keep Mac & Slider separated outside where both boys have toys to play with (Mac & Faith have the yard, while Slider & Bruiser have a pen). I put Mac in the house before letting Slider, Bruiser and Faith play in the yard together.
It's a pain in the backside, but it's the only solution I've been able to come up with to keep peace in the family!

No soup for you!
Seriously, just confiscate the toys when the two are together - including stuff they find on the ground. Take the dogs out individually for toy play. |

I never play with toys when they're together. I play with them all separately. It's just that Fiz with that nose of his will find a wood chip and think of it as a toy. Heck, he brought me a piece of straw to throw for him!
Tracy, the kids are never allowed outside unless I'm with them, so I was with them when they fought. Tey were right behind me when it started though I wasn't looking at them. It was an all out brawl by the time I looked over my shoulder. Sasha latched on to his face and WOULD not let him go. ( [heck] of a Schutzhund grip!) I think that actually saved them both some damage. She's got a bite on her snout and head. His poor tongue is cut and has a tiny chunk out of the tip. when I went for the leashes to separate them (don't want stitches or torn flesh), they'd just about tired each other out. I brought Sasha in and put her behind the gate then went out to get the other 3. I kept them separate for a few hours. They seem fine with each other now. I guess its time for NILIF too. Ahh dogs, gotta love 'em...they got their boo boos scrubbed out....I got a 6 pack!

My dogs would get aggressive with each other over food. Well, sort of. I'd give Treader a treat, and Cookie would growl and try to take it from him. (After a few corrections, Cookie opted to just show her teeth to Treader when I wasn't looking.)
I taught that them I would settle disputes. If I give food to one dog, it belongs to that dog and the other can't have it.
