In order to try to keep from having duplicate posts in the Urgent Rescue section we would really like to see a standardized heading containing important info, BUT in a certain order.
Also we would appreciate people looking at the recent posts to keep the duplications to a minimum. We understand that from time to time duplicate posts will happen, but if we can get the heading standardized we feel that would be a BIG help. Standardizing can only make things easier to read and find. This is the format we would like everyone to use in the header effective 4/29/08 City/town, State - Name, Sex, Age, then what every you want. Example: anytown,XX - Gerorge,M,5yr, PTS date XX/XX/XX or what every information you want. Please refrain from saying PTS tomorrow or 1 day or 2 days left, please use a date. If the dog doesn’t have a name, then insert the cage number. Many times there are multiple GSD of the same sex listed at a shelter. Update: 4/29/08 - Please do not mark dogs that are posted under the Urgent section as Urgent. They are posted in the Urgent section so it isn't necessary. Use a PTS with a date or SOON. Update: 5/1/08 – When posting a dog in need here are some things that would be very helpful and time saving. A: Please don’t just post a link to Petfinder or the shelter, at a minimum the information that is posted by the shelter about the dog and a picture if there and you have the ability to post. B: If possible and know also add things like: Good with dogs: (Yes, No, Unknown) Good with cats Good with kids These additions to posts will save a lot of peoples time clicking on links if some or all of the information about the dog is available when they open the post on the board. If you are checking on a dog and find that it is good with dogs, cats or kids, please come and post that information as it can go a long way in getting a dog into a rescue and foster home. When a dog is save, make the saved post, click Notify Moderator and tell us the dog is saved and if the post should go to the where are they now or just removed. Update: 5/1/08 New Forum A new Forum has been added to the Rescue Section. This will serve as a “Follow-Up” for dogs listed under the Urgent Section that do not fit in the “Where Are They Now” forum. This will keep dogs that are still in need of help at the top of the “Urgent” section where they should be. Title: Follow-up from Urgent forum Description: Dogs moved out of Urgent that are either saved according to shelter, out of shelter but still needing follow up and the poor souls who were PTS. I want to thank everyone who is taking the time to get the Header or Subject line in the correct format. Things are looking much better. Thank you |
