Selzer: I really appreciate you coming to my defense – really, I do!! Thank you very, much. I do agree with the essence of your point, which I think was that sometimes folks see/read things that are not there. I agree with you. In fact, I think that happens a lot with folks here (myself included).

Jax: Again, I apologize if you found my comments sarcastic or rude in any way whatsoever. That was not my intent, I promise. Actually, I was shocked when I read your post. I even had to re-read it. Then, I re-read mine to try and figure out exactly what I said that was so offensive to you. Heck, I even had to drag my Easter guests into the office to have them read the comments, too. Frankly, none of us could figure out why you responded the way you did.

All: Finally, I realized that Selzer hit the nail on the head with her comment – “Human beings make mistakes, have bad days, and say stupid things some times. Sometimes, it is the responses we make to people that spur a situation that really did not exist prior.”

If one fines a statement to be unclear, perhaps one should try to clarify the statement before jumping to conclusions (no sarcasm intended – just making a suggestion) I know in my heart what I said was not sarcastic – or at least meant to be sarcastic. From here on, if someone finds my remarks sarcastic, so be it. That is their problem, not mine. For whatever the reason, I think sometimes folks go out of their way looking for an argument - as depressing as that sounds.

I think if everyone put their own posts under the same magnifying glass that they put others under things *may* just go a bit smoother.

And don't underestimate the power of one post to change the tone of a thread. I think our admin Jean is a master of this and she did it long before she became a mod.

If you think someone is being treated unfairly offer them understanding and support without pointing the finger at others. It can really change the whole direction of a thread.

Just my 2 cents worth.

INTERNET....SUCH SERIOUS BUSINESS!!!

Im guessing if anyone got seriously mad enough to leave the forum over a discussion here their spring was probably a little too tight when they sat down in the first place. I dont know anyone here personally outside of this place so responses to anything I post means very little to me. I do enjoy the discussions we have here and if someone disagrees with something ive said that's fine. That's why they call it a discussion, everyone has a chance to submit their view on a given subject.

As far as reading between the lines looking for some kind of subtle insult I find that whole notion funny. I for one am not going to study a post and see if I can make it say something it doesnt. Or even if it did Im not going to waste the time looking for it or even thinking about it.

When someone gets a little nasty in response to one of my posts It usually makes me smile. Im sitting here on an INTERNET FORUM, What else would I expect to happen. I know how it works and what to expect when I sit down so why should I be surprised, offended, mad or leave the forum when it happens. That doesnt make any sense to me.

There's no way im going to let an INTERNET site dictate how I feel when I turn it off and go do something else. There are way too many other SERIOUS,REAL LIFE sitautions that control our emotions. Im not going to let an INTERNET FORUM be one of them.

Let me finish by saying:

INTERNET....SUCH SERIOUS BUSINESS!!!

Butch, you had better be careful, being light about such a serious business might just be breaking a Rule. Then someone will tell you you done good, and someone will tell you you done bad, and they will get together to discuss it, play ring around the rosy, and hand out shots all around. Make my bourbon a coke, please.

No smileys cannot find them.

If they did, I probably wouldn't even notice...or care. That's kind of my point. I sit here and read a post, maybe post an opinion or a comment and then I move on unless the topic interests me. Then I might get involved in the discussion but I can guarantee it will not get me mad or change my mood in the slightest. I was probably smilin when I sat down and Ill be smilin when I get up. If it didnt work that way...I wouldn't be here in the first place.

Life is way too short to get bend out of shape because of an INTERNET CHAT AREA.
