Thanks for trying to help keep this dog out of a shelter.
Contact your local breed rescues to find out which trainers they use and trust -- and give them a heads-up that this dog may need help on the 31st. Having a week or more to locate a foster capable of socializing an unsocialized dog will help -- not every foster can or will take this type of dog.
You may also ask the nearest rescues (or, even better, the trainer they recommend) to help you temperament test him. Not being socialized with kids can mean different things. If his instinct is to attack and kill children, that's a problem-- the SPCA will likely euthanize him. If he's just unsure because he's never been around them, that's very likely to be fixable.
