So it's been a YEAR...!

Hey and old!

So good to see some of you old timers are still here and still dishing out your wisdom

It's been a year since I was last 'active' on the site (though I've popped in and done searches several times when I had issues and needed some insight! thanks for that!). I wanted to take a quick moment to (re)introduce myself before I just jumped back into posting!

For those of you who may remember, a year ago I had just rescued Malachi (aka Kai) from a horrible, neglectful home. I was also dealing with introducing him to my two young children. I also quickly learned upon vet visit that he was HW+. All went well--with slow introductions--with my kids. Kai and my son are now best buds. I think Kai helped my son with a lot of issues this past year in relation to confidence. And I think it's been a two way street for both of them..My daughter, now 2, likes to use Kai as her personal play table. All small toys end up on top of Kai at some point.

Malachi has really blossomed in the past year. He is such a loving, intelligent, patient, and loyal soul. I know some of you are going 'well DUH! that's why we love this breed!' and I fully understand now. His energy level has been a great motivational factor for me, as well. I'm much more active than I was a year ago. We recently (this summer) began taking weekend and day trips to the mountains for camping and hikes. I'm lucky to have the Blue Ridge Pkwy within reasonable driving distance. Kai seems invigorated by the mountain air--not so sure he needed any extra vigor, though

So much has happened but I'l spare you all the details. I just wanted to say HELLO again and say I'm happy to be back posting. Hopefully, I can help someone the way you all helped me last year!

RIP Malachi 'Kai' My Midnite Rider ♡
I may not be consistent with anything else, but I'm consistent w my dog.
