Did our first backpacking trip with a wild Dutch Shep. All went okay. One thing I learned is that he very quickly decides to own and protect the camp so he had to be on leash (long line) in camp or he would posture at people and scare them a bit. He was a gentleman on the trail though.

He did go in the tent, at first did not want to and then loved it, sleeping bags, friends, cozy. Once at night he woke up and almost went through the screen door as a porcupine started toward the tent! His barking and the porcupine turned on his heel and scooted away quickly.

This was a backpack trip btw and Tygo had to carry packs.

Get him good and tired and bring lots of treats.
