OMG , a Huntaway , didn't know you had any in Scotland.
Fantastic working dogs primarily in use in New Zealand .

looked into them because of the "genetic obedience" interests and herding ---- very strict "
Bred solely for performance
The NZ Huntaway is one of the few animals that has been selected solely on the basis of 'performance'. Human 'fancy' and silly notions were never involved. If the pups from a mating didn't show any working instinct by about 6 months of age, they were euthanized as nobody wanted them for pets."
Woolshed 1: New Zealand farm working dogs. The NZ Huntaway

although the Huntaway is bred to bark to move the sheep and to help locate the dog who is a distance away , or even over some hill , from the handler, YOU have to teach you dog when and when not to bark.
