I wanted some general guidance regarding the weight of my GSD Ellie. I rescued Ellie from a shelter in 2013. She was 11 mo and 75 lbs.
She is 25" at the withers and currently 2.3 years and 97 lbs.
The vet has said she is fine and not over weight. However, I wanted opinions from those who deal more exclusively in GSDs and know more about the breed.

Can you post a picture of her body from above? From those pics, it looks like she can afford to lose some weight. It's best for a dog not to be carrying around extra weight on their joints. Here is a good guide:
from the top she should have an hour glass shape, and you should be able to feel the last 2 ribs somewhat easily when you run your hands down her sides
Miss Ellie is a fine looking gal.....she certainly isn't obese or skinny....looks "solid". But a pic from the top is more telling....looking for those "curves"...
I do agree with the MIKKO....leaner is so much better for them rather than carrying any unneeded weight....
We walk everyday and go to the park on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Would going to the park and chasing a tennis ball everyday be a good way to ramp up her exercise our do you think it would be too much on her joints?
In that picture she isn't fat but in my opinion there should be more of a tuck by the hips.
