Black tar stool, is an indication of blood high in the GI tract. Not in the lower intestine, but digested or large intestinal bleeding. I would have him checked for an ulcer.

His aggression could easily be linked to feeling bad. I would ask for a referral to an internal medicine specialist o a vet school. I would get a urine culture and an ultrasound.
